“Collaboration Unveiled: Nextcloud and TrueNAS Join Forces – Breaking News from DevPro Journal”

“Nextcloud and TrueNAS Partner to Bring Robust Collaboration Platform to Enterprises”

Nextcloud GmbH and iXsystems Inc. have joined forces to bring the full capabilities of Nextcloud Hub to TrueNAS, the top Open Storage platform on the market. With tens of thousands of TrueNAS systems already utilizing Nextcloud, this partnership will provide larger organizations with the confidence and support they need to deploy this industry-leading on-premises collaboration platform.

“As self-funded companies with a strong Open-Source philosophy, Nextcloud and TrueNAS are a natural fit,” said Frank Karlitschek, CEO and Founder of Nextcloud. “Our mutual customers will benefit from an open and flexible platform with strong enterprise support, capable of delivering efficient collaboration at any scale.”

The TrueNAS systems from iXsystems provide flexible Open Storage that can scale from small home servers to 20PB+ storage platforms. With the addition of the TrueCommand management tool, which offers easy deployment options through Docker and the cloud, Nextcloud Hub is now available as a fully-supported app on the TrueNAS platform. This means that TrueNAS users can easily deploy Nextcloud Hub and gain access to features such as Files, Groupware, Talk, and Collaborate Online for real-time document editing. With over 200 integrated apps, Nextcloud Hub offers a comprehensive solution for document storage, sharing, collaboration, and communication.

Unlike traditional cloud productivity platforms from Google and Microsoft, all data remains within the user’s private infrastructure and is not accessible to anyone else. In addition, both Nextcloud and TrueNAS offer an extensive layer of security and compliance capabilities. With no restrictions or additional fees per user, storage capacity can be scaled as needed.

Brett Davis, EVP at iXsystems, highlighted the unique capabilities of this partnership, stating that “enterprise storage needs continue to explode, only overtaken by the growth of compliance and privacy challenges. iXsystems and Nextcloud are uniquely capable of delivering a platform that tackles these two challenges at once.”

Nextcloud Hub for TrueNAS is available immediately, based on the current Nextcloud 22. Users of TrueNAS 12.0 (CORE and Enterprise) can easily deploy the Nextcloud plugin. Additionally, Nextcloud and iXsystems offer enterprise support options for business users. For more information, visit our blogs: TrueNAS announcement – Nextcloud announcement.
